SEE 2083 involved two different school-submitted forms. This guide is about the earlier registration form: students who were studying in Class 9 during the 2082 academic session used it to register for the later SEE examination. The official registration period was 2082 Kartik 19 to 2082 Mangsir 24, and the fee was NPR 300. That registration period is closed.

Do not confuse it with the later SEE Class 10 examination application form for 2083. The examination application is a separate step, with a separate notice, deadline, and fee.

Always check the latest notice from the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Grade 10 before submitting a new form. The next cycle may have different dates, fees, or requirements.

SEE 2083 registration status

The official notice opened registration from 2082 Kartik 19 to 2082 Mangsir 24. Students submitted the form through their school rather than completing an independent public online application.

The student-facing registration deadline was 2082 Mangsir 24. Schools were required to verify and submit the registration details to the relevant Education Development and Coordination Unit by the end of 2082 Mangsir. These dates apply only to the SEE 2083 cycle and are now closed.

Who was eligible for SEE 2083 registration?

The notice covered students who were regularly studying Class 9 during the 2082 academic session in:

  • General education
  • Traditional education, including Sanskrit, Vedavidyashram, Gurukul, Madarsa, or Gumba/Gaushala programs identified by the notice
  • Technical education

The student also needed to have passed the Class 8 or equivalent annual examination. Where the 2079 letter-grading system applied, the notice required a grade sheet showing at least a D grade.

The notice also required students registering for the 2083 SEE examination to complete 14 years of age by the end of Chaitra 2083.

Open, alternative, and informal adult-school students followed a different timing: they were to submit registration together with the SEE examination application form.

Registration fee

The registration fee stated in the SEE 2083 notice was NPR 300 per student. The notice instructed that the amount be deposited under revenue heading 14223.

Do not reuse this fee for a future cycle without checking the new notice. Examination authorities can change the amount, revenue heading, payment method, or deadline.

Documents and information needed

For the regular Class 9 registration process, the notice required or referred to:

  • The registration form provided through the school
  • A copy of the birth-registration certificate certified by the headteacher
  • A recent passport-size photograph to be attached in the specified place on the form
  • The previous qualifying grade sheet where the letter-grading requirement applied
  • Accurate name, date of birth, and parents’ names
  • The registration fee payment information

Check every name and date against the student’s official documents before the school submits the form. A mistake in the registration record can create problems later when the school verifies the student for the examination.

How the SEE registration process worked

Step 1: Get the form through the school

The school downloaded the registration form from the NEB website, the SEE Office website, or the relevant Education Development Directorate website. Students should ask their school for the form and its internal submission instructions.

Step 2: Complete the student details

The form needed the student’s name, date of birth, parents’ names, education stream, photograph, and other requested details. Use the spelling and date shown on the student’s official records.

Step 3: Attach the required documents and fee details

Attach the certified birth-registration copy and any grade sheet required for the student’s grading system. Submit the NPR 300 fee as instructed by the school and keep the payment evidence.

Step 4: Submit the form to the school

The student submitted the completed form to the school where they were regularly studying. The notice did not describe this as a form that students could submit independently through a public website.

Step 5: School and education-unit verification

The Education Development and Coordination Unit entered and verified the registration information online. The school then checked the details and returned the verified information to the unit according to the official schedule.

The unit later provided the school-level details to the examination office so registration numbers could be assigned. After the registration number was established, the school was expected to keep a certified copy and provide a copy to the student.

Important mistakes to avoid

  • Do not submit registration through more than one school, district, or location.
  • Do not guess the student’s date of birth or use a spelling that differs from official documents.
  • Do not assume that SEE registration and the later examination application are the same form.
  • Do not use an old fee or deadline for a new examination cycle.
  • Ask the school for confirmation that the form was received and verified.

The official notice warned that duplicate registration could result in cancellation of the forms and later examination consequences.

Registration form versus SEE examination application

Registration establishes the student’s record for a future SEE examination. The examination application is a later process with its own notice, schedule, and requirements. A student who completed registration should still follow the later SEE examination-application notice when it is published.

This distinction is especially important for open, alternative, and informal adult-school students, whose registration and examination-application timing may be handled together.

What to do if the registration details are wrong

First, contact the school that submitted the form. Ask the school to check the entry against the original birth certificate, grade sheet, and school record. If the issue cannot be resolved through the school, contact the relevant Education Development and Coordination Unit or the Office of the Controller of Examinations.

For the 2083 notice, the SEE Office listed 01-6630619 for questions. Confirm the current contact number from the latest official notice before calling about a future cycle.
