The Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) publishes General Registered Engineer examination results through its official website as result notices, usually with an attached result document. Start at the NEC website and use the notice that matches your examination date, phase, centre, and discipline. Do not treat a social-media post, a screenshot, or a third-party list as confirmation.
How to find your official NEC result
- Open the NEC website and look in Latest Notices or select Notices.
- Look for a notice whose title says that the result (परीक्षाफल) has been published for the General Registered Engineer / engineering-profession name-registration examination.
- Match the BS examination date in the notice with your admit card or examination record. If NEC held the examination in more than one phase or centre, make sure the notice and attachment match yours.
- Open the attachment hosted on
nec.gov.np. NEC result notices can publish a PDF list of successful candidates. - Search the document for your roll number, then verify your name and engineering discipline as shown there. A name alone is not enough where candidates have similar names.
- Save the official notice link or PDF for your own records, along with your application confirmation and payment receipt.
For example, NEC’s result notices identify the examination date in their titles and provide an attachment. The 13th examination first-phase result notice and the 14th examination second-phase result notice show this pattern. They are examples of how to identify a notice, not a result for a different cycle or centre.
What to verify before you act on a result
Use the official notice and its attachment to check:
- the examination date, phase, and centre;
- your roll number;
- the spelling of your name;
- the engineering discipline or programme; and
- the status shown for your own record.
If any of these do not match, do not assume a name on a list belongs to you or make a payment based on it. Keep the official notice URL, your admit card, and the confirmation details together so you can give NEC a clear, limited description of the mismatch.
Keep your personal information safe
Result lists may contain names and roll numbers, but that does not make all of your application details public. Do not post or send your citizenship number, date of birth, portal password, payment PIN, full application documents, or an unredacted dashboard screenshot to a group chat or an unofficial helper.
Use only an official nec.gov.np page or the NEC registration portal when signing in or entering personal information. Check the address carefully before logging in. If someone asks for money, a password, or identity documents through a personal account, pause and verify the request using NEC’s published contact details instead.
What to do after you pass
Passing the examination and receiving a registration certificate are not necessarily the same event. An NEC result notice may recommend successful candidates for name registration, while a separate Council decision and later notice can govern certificate availability. For example, a published NEC result document states that the registration certificate would be available only after the Council’s decision and that a further notice would follow.
After confirming your result, take these limited, official steps:
- Keep your examination records: save the result notice, application confirmation, and payment receipt in a secure folder.
- Check the NEC website for a later notice about name registration or certificate distribution. NEC has issued separate certificate-distribution notices, so do not infer a collection date, office visit, or payment requirement from an older candidate’s experience.
- Sign in to the official registration portal only if NEC’s current notice or your dashboard directs you to take an action. Read the displayed amount, purpose, and instruction before paying.
- If a certificate or registration notice gives a document, fee, timing, or collection instruction, follow that notice for your own cycle and retain the receipt.
The NEC registration guide explains the ordinary application portal and its published fee information. It is not a substitute for a post-result notice, which controls any next step for the cycle you passed.
If your result is unclear or you think there is an error
First, recheck that you opened the correct phase, centre, and date. Then contact NEC through the contact information published on its website or registration portal. State your roll number, examination date and centre, programme, and the exact discrepancy. Ask NEC for the current official process and deadline, if any, for clarification.
Do not assume that retotaling, rechecking, a corrected list, or another remedy is available. This guide does not set a procedure or deadline because NEC must announce any such option for the relevant examination cycle.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I check the NEC license exam result?
Start on the official NEC website, then open the result notice that matches your examination date, phase, centre, and discipline. Check the attached official document for your roll number and other identifying details.
Does passing mean that my NEC certificate is ready to collect?
Not automatically. NEC may publish a separate notice about name registration or certificate distribution after the result. Wait for the current official instruction for your examination cycle before travelling, paying, or submitting documents.
What if my name, roll number, or discipline is wrong in the result?
Keep your admit card and the official result notice, then contact NEC through its published official contact details. Ask for the current procedure and any deadline for your specific issue; do not rely on an unverified retotaling or correction claim.
What score is needed to pass the NEC license exam?
This guide does not state a pass mark because it must be verified against the official rule or notice for the relevant examination cycle. Do not rely on an older screenshot or informal claim when interpreting your result.
